Physician Bio:

Adam Jacobowitz, MD is an ocular inflammation, uveitis, and immunology specialist. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dr. Jacobowitz attended Union College in Schenectady, New York, and graduated cum laude with a dual Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. After a year of clinical research in the field of genetics and addiction at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Jacobowitz pursued his medical degree at SUNY Brooklyn, obtaining additional training in clinical pediatrics before his residency in Ophthalmology. Upon completion of his surgical training, Adam was invited to perform his fellowship in the field of uveitis and ocular immunology at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University, after which he became board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Jacobowitz resides in Miami where he practices comprehensive Ophthalmology. He is pleased to extend his clinical experience to the local community in the US Virgin Islands.

What is your favorite thing about being an ophthalmologist in the USVI? Helping an underserved community who may not have easy access to healthcare.
How do you spend your time away from the office? I enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving.
Do you have any pets? I have a dog (Maltipoo) named Chip.
