What You Need To Know About the DSAEK Procedure:

One popular and newer surgical technique that Dr. Pelletier offers is the Descemet’s Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK) procedure. This form of Endothelial Keratoplasty (EK) involves removing the donor corneal endothelial cells from the remaining donor tissue and implanting them into the recipient’s cornea without removing the anterior portion of the recipient’s cornea. Benefits of this procedure may include rapid visual improvement, greater post-operative ocular integrity, fewer follow-up visits, and fewer stitches.
